ROLE OF STUDENTS IN NATION BUILDING

Youth has to be the most important part of everyone’s life, considering just how much one person can develop during these years. These years will not only offer opportunities for growth but will also help us in getting a better understanding of ourselves. This understanding of oneself is an unending process.

Teachers never collide with the same type of students everywhere, rather the types are varied. Today they can meet someone with high ambition and readily give them suitable advice. The real challenge is meeting aimless individuals with zero seriousness and influencing them to become a better version of themselves. So a teacher’s duty isn’t restricted to attending lectures and sending notes.

In essence, education is all about gathering knowledge and developing reasoning skills to make good judgments. Education is critical for uplifting both the individual and their society. If the energy of the students is directed to constructive purposes, the whole country will taste the all round development. A great man has rightly said,” Give me the children and I will change the nation.” A nation can progress if its youth is sincere and educated. They should also develop good study habits, including time management and self-discipline, in order to achieve their academic goals. Additionally, students have a responsibility to behave respectfully towards teachers and peers, and to maintain a positive attitude towards learning. Another way in which students can fulfill their duty is through active participation in social and political issues.

There is enough scope for the students to serve society. The major ones are illiteracy, population growth, unemployment, superstition, lack of health and sanitation, terrorism, natural calamities, etc. Students can play an active role in removing some of the social problems. They can serve society in their spare time and long vacations. This very duty of process of learning brings knowledge and off course social and cultural, traditional touch amongst them.

They can access various schemes of the government for their uplift and growth. Best of all, through literacy, the illiterate can be prevented from being cheated by unscrupulous and crafty people. Students’ power can expel illiteracy from our country. They only need to have a strong will and determination to eradicate the menace of illiteracy. During summer vacations they can devote a couple of hours to teaching the illiterates in localities or villages near their residence. They can educate the illiterates in life skills, proper hygiene, childcare, and nutrition.

With the rise of climate change, pollution and other ecological imbalances, calamities and disasters have become a common factor in present times. In such a scenario, the ambition of students must be to work towards the total eradication of these social disabilities. Man is a social animal for all intents and purposes spending a great deal of his life monumental within the dictates of society. Time has come to understand what the new time is looking for. If all a teacher is going to do is read her pre-written notes from a PowerPoint slide to a lecture hall of thirty or three hundred, perhaps they should then stay at home. The teacher can certainly save them from making the wrong decision.
